Our hearts were sad and then one day this wonderful hound found her way into our hearts to fill an emptiness.......
Her Royal Highness, C. Mystic
By Cris Cramer and Diane Windischman

We never dreamed that this little hound would bring the joy back into our home after our sudden loss of Just Juliette.

C.Mystic was ready to take care of us, protect us from squirrels, raccoons, possums and any other intruder that dared to enter "her" yard and home. She even climbs this tree to "get them." I have upon numerous occasions had to get the ladder and climb up to get her down. Oh she would jump but I would not have her doing this.

From day one, when her and I met at Nationals (thank you Priscilla Wright for guiding and bringing this beautiful hound to Nationals, outside of Chicago/Wisconsin Area by Lake Michigan, where we met her and immediately fell in love with her.) She loved toys. To this day, she has over two hundred and she takes excellent care of them and plays with them everyday. She also shares them with her "sisters" but is very watchful, as she will have no one ruining her toys. She even checks bags when we come home to "see what we brought her." After that weekend at Nationals she rode back home with me. I could tell she felt she was home. She was so comfortable in the "her" van and her and California Pearl were hitting it off very well. California Pearl, like us had been missing Just Juliette very much and this little C.Mystic, California Pearl thought was just the berries. I could tell the way they shared the same seat, they were going to become fast friends. That they did. They were inseparable. Although at times C.Mystic would want to play and C. Pearl didn't. They always seemed to work it out. When walking they had to be touching each other, just like when California Pearl and Just Juliette would walk. It was amazing. The minute we pulled into the driveway C.Mystic and Diane's eyes met and it was an immediate bonding. Diane fell in love at first sight. I remember her saying, "She is the most beautiful girl ever." Well that was it. C.Mystic had won Diane's heart and the hearts of all our family members that quickly.

C.Mystic is a great traveler and loves luxuries. She does not miss the desert where she was left to fend for herself. Thank you Sandy Blount for rescuing her from that terrible shelter and picking off those 200 some jelly bean size ticks she had. Thank you for letting this wonderful Afghan Hound, C.Mystic, be adopted by us. Thank you for letting her own our family! She is one of the lights of our lives. She is fun, she is funny, she is proud, she is elegant, she is intelligent, she is beautiful beyond words, she is loveable, she has attitude and she has a family now, not a desert, and loves every minute of being in our family. From the minute we all saw her little sweet freckle face we knew she was going to bring joy beyond words into our family. She is also a Therapy Dog and brings joy to many sick children, people in nursing homes and hospitals.

Although she came fearful and scared of others, and some other dogs, she has made many doggie friends and she would do anything to protect her two "sisters" that she loves. We love to watch her play with them. C.Mystic sometimes known as Her Royal Highness, rules our home and our hearts. Thank you Sandy and Priscilla. The joy and love C.Mystic has brought to us is so beyond words. We also love her beyond words. Perhaps as our grand children say to the moon and beyond! Yes Priscilla, that phone conversation you and I had before we adopted C.Mystic when you said, “We have the perfect Hound for you, she will make you laugh.” You were right, she is perfect and she does make us laugh every day.
